Yeah, I know the blog has been spottier than AT&T’s 3G coverage, but it’s been a crazy few weeks!

As usual, there is a bunch of stuff going on so let’s see what we can get to.

I think I’ll give my first mention to Rachel. Congrats on our 1-year anniversary. That was quick, huh? Second mention has to go to Jeremy for buying Real Soccer 2010 as an anniversary gift. We’ve both wanted that game forever and know you and I have it! Thanks! The next mention has to go to my boy Kyle for spending 50 hours working with me over the weekend.

That really doesn’t seem possible, but we did and I broke a record that I’ve never come close to ever. That’s 63 work hours in four days. That reminds me of my old sleepless record from college—62.5 hours up with 30 minutes of sleep. Both of those records are never to be broken again!

I have to congratulate my favorite lawyer, Brian, for filing his first injunction the other week. I have to say that I’m proud of you man! Keep me updated on that one!

Apparently, the JK_Design twitter is kind of a big deal—with something like 300 followers—we’re kind of cool. And my account isn’t too shabby either with something like 125 followers—yes!

For those of you ladies out there that like Legos, this purse might be for you.

Recently, Miss Tintu had her tax credit. That’s a beautiful tax credit if I don’t say so myself.

And speaking of money, Andrea gave me like 30 coupons for every store you can imagine. You can download the zip here.

And that’s it for complete sentences for me. Cool links to follow.

Ahhhhhhhh, what a week my friends, what a week. I’d like to say thank you to all who said congrats and sent your wishes last week. We appreciate it. For those of you who asked, we don’t have a registry and won’t for a few months I assume. It’s not really a big deal though because the reception isn’t for a year anyway. Feel free to send a card to 1718 Birchwood court North Brunswick, NJ 08902 if you like.

I guess I was wrong when I said Rachel wanted to get married sooner. I received a comment from “The Mrs.” that said “I believe there is a type-o in this week’s blog. Somehow, you wrote that “I” wanted to get married earlier, when it should have been “we.”  :-P” Well you heard it from her. Thank you for the clarification.

Lisa G. and Bob “O Ran” are now a part of the madness. Hello!

I sent my old boss Jay P. a quick note wishing him a happy birthday on Friday. I hope all is well with you and the family, sir!

So I received an e-mail with a link to a cool site. It lets you send free card to soldiers. It seems pretty cool and will probably make someone’s day. You should check it out.

On Monday Jerry and a few guys took me out for lunch. It was so wild that I can’t even talk about it! J Thanks again. I had a blast!

Kurt and I went out to Philly on Wednesday to meet a Darren L. for diner. It worked out well because I was so busy that I didn’t get to eat lunch that day. So we got there and I went on a gluttoniness rampage. I’m not sure that’s a word, but I ate until I nearly lost it out the way it came in.

Thursday was a milestone birthday for one of our employees, Chuck. The day was a celebration. A few of us ended up going out watch the game at the Tiger’s Tale. That was a mean rack of lamb!

Yellow folks! Since I was out last week I’ll do a quick recap of the “goodness” from last week for you folks who just have to know!

First please do me a favor and look at this picture. Adrian insists that you actually care about him getting a 10.0 on a Wii game that came out last year.

Charlie answered my call for an e-mail, but Maribel didn’t. Are you ignoring me or did you not get this?

My other mother, Kim, checked in and sent me some pictures of my little sisters. They are growing up nicely. Keep those coming!

For those of you who ever checked the profile section of this blog, I discontinued it. There are just too many of you to keep track of to update that thing. Sorry!

I talked to one of my TOP 5 HR friends of all time, Caroline S. She recorded her 100th blog post recently and she also had a cutie baby Ari Milo. He is too cool for school with his blog. I’m going to have to catch up on his life!

Mitzi is back to work! That’s means you are all better! Yes!

In response to the pain in my finger last week, Lisa C. told me, “Like my mom would say, just slam your other ones in a door and you won’t know the difference.”

Quote of the week goes to J. Rock again! “Omar – you are the bomb. J” How could you not love her?

My translation friend, Rebecca B, had a baby, Arya, which was the second surprise from her. I recall being shocked she got married. J

Bob M. sent me this cool video. After I told the guys at the office what I got Rachel for our anniversary they said that would be me. Turns out she loved it like I said.

Ok. That’s the recap. On to the good stuff. So I have to thank those of you who sent me e-mails and left comments on the blog about our anniversary. You can see some of them here.

I have to mention Jessica again. I love her! She is always “on point.” She sends me a comment like, “Omar you should get married in Vegas.” It was funny because we actually did get married that morning. Yes, I actually did just say that. HAHA.

Now before you folks get mad let me explain. Rachel wanted to get married sooner rather than later so we did! There were like five people there, two moms, two grands and her brother, and it lasted no longer than five minutes. I know I told a bunch of you, you’d be invited. You still are! We’ll have a nice big reception next year on the fifth of December!

And I know how you guys are. Keep the gifts to yourselves until next year. J

Anyway, Rachel got us these matching sweat suites that said “I Finally Did It” on the back with our names on the front. We received a bunch of comments, but here are the best two.

Some Random Guy: What did you finally do?
Rachel: We got married.
Guy: Oh congratulations!
Us: Thank you!
Pause
Guy: Mumbles I’ll never do that sh!t again!
Us: LOL!

Some Random Guy 2: I love you alls jackets!
Us: Oh thank you!
Guy 2: Next time I do it I’ll get jackets that say I did it again!

Us: LOL!

Here are some quick highlights from Vegas.

We stayed in the Bellagio. (Lisa G., I know you thought that trip was a crazy gift from Rachel’s mom, now I think you understand?)

We saw the Cirque Du Soleil: Ka.

We saw Steve Wyrick the magician.

We ate a Brazilian rodizio lunch!

The winter baseball meetings were at our hotel and I saw Yankee manager Joe Girardi.

I played blackjack with members of the Boston sports media.

I won $125.

Trip over.

I’m still pretty tired from getting in at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the time change and going right back to work so forgive me for being a jerk if I happen to be! LOL.

Good bye!

By the time you read this I will probably be on my way to Vegas celebrating my five-year anniversary with Rachel. And just in case you were wondering, Vegas was her idea. Good luck trying to contact me. Send me a text or something if you really need me. Otherwise, good luck getting me to answer an e-mail.

Live long and prosper.

Dec 28

To the three of you reading this, Happy Friday! To the rest of you, I hope your enjoying your time off. Anyway, I just added the super bowler Bob C. to the list. What’s up, Bob?

This week has been full of pretty funny stories. So I’m going to attempt to write a funny for each day. I know I can’t do it, but here we go.

Friday I spent most of my day at Tyco. I saw all of the regulars and got a chance to spread some holiday cheer. I made my way over to building 7 to get IG, the Iratola or Ira G. We took a minute to have a quick lunch over at Fridays. On the way to lunch I thought I had an “uh oh” moment. I’m in his Commander and we’re laughing about whatever and I’m like OMG, oh my god, I’m peeing on myself. Now I knew I wasn’t peeing on myself, but it sure felt like it. He’s like oh sorry man, I have heated seats. Ha.

So Saturday, I stopped by my mailbox to pick up some of the gifts I ordered online. For those of you who wonder what I mean when I talk about my mailbox; I have a mailbox at MBE. While I was there, I dropped off a gift for the owner, my buddy Tony. While we were talking, my Grandmother walks in—how random. I rushed home for a little Wii challenge with my buddy, Adrian. I basically got “owned”. That’s gamer for beat. He thoroughly embarrassed me and I got Wii arm to boot.

Rachel and I took a trip to Atlantic City on Sunday. So every time I go by myself I end up with ridiculous upgrades. Each time Rachel comes I don’t. She says it’s because I flirt with the people, male or female. LOL. I think it’s because they see that I’m alone and want to do something nice for the lonely guy spending the night by himself.

When we went this time there was a woman there. She sees my Rutgers credit card and is like “did you go to Rutgers.” I said yes. Did you? She’s like “I went to Temple, but I thought about Rutgers.” We went back and forth about school and her daughter while she checked me in. To me it was harmless small talk that was initiated by her, but Rachel apparently felt like I was flirting uncontrollably. I wasn’t, but this recent article says it can be good for your relationship. Needless to say, we stayed in a regular room.

I gambled a bit while we were down there, but I wasn’t feeling it so I cut that short. I won $30 bucks and we left in the morning. When we got back to central Jersey we stopped by our second favorite diner, the Omega Diner. There was a couple there that kept staring at us, but we had no clue who they were. After we left we went to see I Am Legend. We sat down and low and behold, there was the couple again. Why were you following us?

Later my mom and grandma came over for our first Christmas Eve celebration. I braved various cooking shows and then we opened gifts. Holy crap I got some cool stuff. On Christmas, we spent some time at Rachel’s family’s house. Rachel’s mom made me the official argyle king with my new argyle scarf.

I realized a few things on Wednesday. One: I had to work! Lol. No biggie, but every else I knew was off. I hate you. J Two: I have 1,160 e-mails from Rachel in my e-mail account. I have saved every e-mail I’ve ever gotten from her. Strange, huh? Three: I sent out holiday cards this year and it was a debacle. I ran out! I know so many people and I didn’t plan accordingly. If you didn’t get one this year, I’m sorry. If you did, did you see that picture? That didn’t come with it, I took that! Nice!

I finally got a chance to review this e-card from Tom. Classic! And this clip of these drunken Santas is great.

So that’s it for me folks. I’ve killed my work week and most likely you’re sipping a martini. If you’d like some free entertainment, please see below.

I love Dilbert. Find out why here.

For you partiers, you might want to watch this funny clip.

Here is a funny piece about salary.

Dec 21

Haha! I’m back! For you non blackberry and e-maiI freaks I guess it’s probably the last time we’ll talk for a while. For the rest of you, I’ll be here!

I took a quick look through my contacts and I realized my super buddy, Sara Jane D., wasn’t on this list. So hey, here you are buddy!

Friday was a busy day. It started with me getting my 100th connection on LinkedIn. J. Rock gets the quote of the week: “That is seriously one of the nicest rings I’ve seen :).” Thanks! Later I found out that Pat was mad at me because I laughed at Kurt’s mouse prank.  Luckily she got over that over the weekend.

I got to talk to my super intern alum buddy Silvia D.! Wow, we had an intriguing conversation.  Bill sent me the funniest baby commercial.  How about this file? That’s pretty funny. Saturday I was thoroughly amused by an article talking about the new trend of marrying for money. I spent the rest of Saturday sitting on my butt ordering Christmas gifts. I didn’t move until the pizza I ordered online came.

Sunday I was out doing the shopping I couldn’t do online. I saw my mother and talked to Kya while I was in Wal-Mart. She told me that three years ago, she was worried out of her mind when I went sky diving. Funny, so was I. Interesting the things you find out in Wal-Mart. Have I ever told you I love the internet? The internet gave me this OJ spoof that’s incredibly funny and work safe. Turns out it was the boss lady’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Barb B.

I found a story Tuesday that I wish I had when I had a cubicle. And this link, I’ll save for when I build my first house. I so need a TV in my bathroom mirror. Here is a funny link  about BO DAY Gas and the one dollar meal. Not work safe (a few curses), but funny!

Wednesday was a day of holiday lunches. Everyone and their mother was out for a holiday lunch so I went out for my own with Shelly. It was her first time at the Macaroni Grill and for me, my first taste of Chianti. Nice. Lunch was hot and I told Shelly about this day. Sylvia do you remember that? On my way back to work I saw Bryan P. and his girlfriend shopping in Princeton.

I was awakened Thursday morning with a ton of Christmas Joy. Everyone was happy and giving gifts and things of that nature. I got a bottle of wine. Thanks, DragonFly. And it was Bill B’s birthday.

I guess that’s it. Another silly week from the kid who can’t believe this is the life he leads. Kid in the candy store I am. I just killed the work week. How about you? Please enjoy your holidays, cherish your family and relax during your time off.

If you’re bored, give me a call (cell number below). If you’re local, let’s do lunch (I’m in Hillsborough).

How about that! It’s Friday morning and I have three newbies on the list! Hello, Sharon W., Kia A. and Jessie C.! Three “!” in a row, I’m starting to sound like the new Kurt. Ha! I’ve been telling Kurt that he should relax a little more at work, breathe and smile a bit. He’s been taking it over the top recently and it sounds like me in those first few sentences, except he uses a high pitched voice, the complete opposite of Tay Zonday.

Friday after I sent out the blog, I found out it was Lisa’s birthday! So you have to tell me; what did you do? And Cleo had the funniest quote about me and hot chocolate: “Yo, just a suggestion, but maybe you need to stay away from hot chocolate… Either stop, or sit in a chair and ask someone to bring it to you. And when they do, don’t move until you finish it!” Well Rachel brought me some and I did fine.

On the way to one of our vendors, we found a dead mouse in the parking lot that someone ran over. Kurt thought it would be funny to pick it up and put it in Mama E. and Pat’s face. Funny it was. It was also gross, but sooooooo funny. Later I even found a person who had as much holiday cheer as Rachel. Speaking of holiday cheer, check out the blog. I remixed it! I guess Kia was so amused by my blog that she started her own. :)

On Monday, JK Design was graced with the presence of Mr. Doug P., my old roomie! Tuesday I met up with my buddy Matt M. online and played Socom until he was summoned by his girlfriend. Later that night my pops bowled a 300! I’m so proud! Ray G., you’re the man. As some of you know, I’ve been updating I Finally Did it. I’ve added Q&A and pictures of the ring, so go see!

Wednesday I found some random pictures of different cultures and how they celebrate X-mas. Cool, huh? I also came upon a dancing cop. I stopped by Tyco and Shelly called me by my new name, Mr. Engaged Man. I love it. No amusing conversation, I was there and gone pretty quickly. How funny is this?

Amy, Amy, Amy. Oh how we love your music, but why, oh why do you do this? Now, you know and I know that sex sells, but how do you feel about this? I told you about Kurt’s mouse prank, but this bird prank takes the cake. I’m thinking this has to be the best penalty call ever!

Wow, this is a shortie this week. Hopefully it was a goodie. I’m way behind with Christmas shopping so that’s the weekend for me. I’m happy because I just KILLED the work week. How about you?

A special hello to Rosa, the inventor of Happy Friday, Happy Monday (only a few more days until Friday) and oh my god, Happy Thursday (tomorrow is Friday!).

Dec 07

Yes! It’s Friday and unless you’ve hiding under a rock, you know that I just got engaged. If not, go to my other blog, IFinallyDidIt.com for the details.

So, have you checked your “Annoying” meter lately? Here’s a funny story about a truly annoying person. There is a person, who must unfortunately remain nameless, that is so blatantly getting on my nerves. How this person could be so rude and vain is mind boggling. Are you really so important that you have to have someone call me, get me on the line and then pick up?

I can’t lie, I am really happy I know you because I’ve gotten so much mileage out of this story and I’ve made so many people laugh it’s worth the aggravation. But here’s one tip: keep the annoyance to peak cell phone hours please. I can only smile so much after 9 p.m. HAHA! And this person isn’t on this list so I am not talking to any of you. :)

So I must apologize for my blatantly slanderous comments toward Kevin and Laura last week. It turns out that the e-mail I sent never left my inbox. After I sent out the blog last week, my buddy Chris C. proved my point about Boston fans again. You guys have no dignity/class. You can take a lesson from us New Yorkers. :) I also got a message from my buddy Caroline L. She’s on a Human Resources world tour right now. It must be nice to travel like that.

In the morning, I waiting in front of Barnes & Noble to get the Business Week I couldn’t find last week. I found the magazine and I got a vente hot chocolate from Star Bucks. Like I dummy I spilled it all over myself on the way back to the office! HAHA. Later in the day I had a quick update meeting with Shelly which was amusing as usual. After we finished I took a quick detour into IT. I saw Lisa W. and I think it just hit me how cool you are. Welcome to the blog too, by the way! I saw Jon, Bill and Kev too. My little detour made me miss cake day at JK Design. I hear the cake was to die for. Darn it!

Saturday, I found this guy on YouTube. He is clearly the next big internet star! Rachel and I went out to buy some tables and just as we were going to pay this guy, another customer, said the funniest thing: “You guys wanna save your money and buy a baby?” We were all cracking up! Saturday was Tyco’s Holiday party. It was the first time I missed it in four years, but Rach I did get an invite!

It turns out that Jon, Shelly and I had a wonderful weekend for undisclosed reasons. And Shelly, do you STILL question why I love Tyco?

So I got to cut this short so if you want to read about the rest of my week, go to IFinallyDidIt.com.

Feel free to shop to you drop with a new batch of holiday coupons.

I leave you with nothing special. I am just happy to be engaged. Enjoy your day and be sure that you let those you love know it.

Rachel, I love you.

A special hello to Rosa, the inventor of Happy Friday, Happy Monday (only a few more days until Friday) and oh my god, Happy Thursday (tomorrow is Friday!).

I am happy to announce that not too long ago I proposed to my longtime girlfriend Rachel R.  We are relaxing in Atlanta, GA and will be back tomorrow. I’d like to thank all of you for your support over the years; more importantly, you can stop asking me, “when are you going to ask her?” because I finally did it!

If you want to read more about our relationship, the proposal or the planning behind it, please visit www.IFinallyDidIt.com.
