A special hello to Rosa, the inventor of Happy Friday, Happy Monday (only a few more days until Friday) and oh my god, Happy Thursday (tomorrow is Friday!).

Jan 29

Aw man! I just spent a bunch of time going through every Happy Friday post. That was fun, but we’ll get into why later.

As you know, we’re wrapping this thing up in two more posts so get your fix now before it’s gone.

I got a note from Adrian and he couldn’t believe I would do such a thing. I think he convinced me to go on a sabbatical. Let’s see if it’s that or if we make it permanent.

Cleo told me she was “hurt” and J. Rock put in a formal protest. I told her that when she gets 9,999 more signatures I’ll bring the blog back. J

It turns out that Maribel has the delusion that Paterson, spelled with one t, isn’t that bad. Apparently, I have the wrong perception. Thanks for the heads up!

I do have to apologize for forgetting to mention the #1 Jets fan, Ira G., last week. I guess that’s as bad as me forgetting to mention that the Cowboys lost. Thanks for the reminder, Rosa. Mail Box Etc. Rosa, not Tyco Rosa.

After Ro reminded me about the game I had a quick conversation with Tony about politics and went on my way. It turns out that while I was in the bank I saw my old friend, Changa! We go wayyyyyyy back!

I ended up talking to Kia on Monday and she told me she was about to go get her masters. That’s a big time move! I love it.

While chatting with one of my top two mentors, Charlie, he told me that I never mentioned him in my blog. I said wow, I’ll mention you this week. Then I went back through every post and I realized I mentioned him more than most people! Comm’on, Charlie! You have to read every week!

On Thursday, Kurt left me speechless. Seriously, I was stuttering. Rachel I forgot to tell you this, but Kurt was rapping, “Get it right, Get it right, Get it tight.” That is a moment that I will never, ever forget.

For you dog lovers out there, check out this link Christie sent me. He’ll do whatever you want.

And how about kids; they do the craziest things. Some of them fight, like Jeremy points out and some of them get stuck behind couches as Bob points out.

Before I get into what I’m about to get into, I have two super bowl pools. If anyone is interested send me an e-mail at omarj@myhappyfriday.net.

So to end this thing right I spent some time putting together the best of Happy Friday. Check it out below! Be sure to check out next week’s post for more Happy Friday goodness!

Jan 22

Now this is a great day! It’s Friday and lucky me, I have off! Hopefully, you’ll have a great day at work while out and about in the world. Maybe I’ll post my whereabouts on foursquare for those of you who know about that.

So I spent the day with one of my Godsons on Saturday and this guy scammed me into watching the Youth in Revolt. I saw the preview and it looked funny, but I didn’t realized until I got in the movie that it was rated R. Needless to say my preteen friend wasn’t supposed to be in there, but we had a good time so it was ok. I’ll keep my eyes on the ratings next time!

Sunday, we had everybody over for a random, impromptu gathering. My uncle was over finishing some work on the house, then my sister, Asia, stopped by with Marcus. Later on Amber came by with Steve and Tiffany. They brought over food for Rachel and the group from the new Sonic’s! Needless to say, everyone was happy.

We finished up the day playing PS3 and Wii. They brought over DJ Hero and I am now addicted. I must have that game ASAP! Can someone buy that for me? I’m broke! J

And I didn’t see it, but while we were playing the Jets won a game. Congrats to my boy Bob on the win.

I had to pick up an item for a client on Monday and the location was in Patterson. Wow, I guess I forgot how bad Patterson was because that place was scarier than I remember. Now that I know the part number all purchases will be made over the phone. ;)

I got word from an old friend, Lauren N., over the weekend. Do you remember her from Plastics (TPA)? She let me know that she just got a new job with ADT, which is perfect because they’re hot right now. It was definitely really cool to hear from her, and hopefully she’ll send me a message on Twitter.

Tuesday, I wore some shirt and a brown and blue tie. Kurt promptly let me know that it was a good choice because blue and brown were the “IT” colors right now. And he knew this because these types of “things” are his bag. Thanks for clueing me in, Sir! I’ll definitely keep that in mind moving forward.

Speaking of dress code, I decided to wear a three piece suit on Wednesday that I thought was pretty cool. First I got, “Are you here to film a video?” then “Are you going to a funeral?” and then “what time is the wedding?” Jerry asked me if I was driving limos on the side. I love it!

Thursday we rounded out the week with lunch at Maggianos or something like that. It was a really nice Italian restaurant in Bridgewater. Me and 13 of my closest colleagues!

Anyway, that’s it for the week and almost it for the blog. Three more posts and I’m out of here. It’s been 130 posts and I think it’s about that time! I’m going to finish up with a few cool posts and then I’m done. See you next week!

Jan 15

Soooooo, we started off last week well with an incredible lunch with Shelly, myself, Jerry and Jen from Tyco. We stopped by the Witherspoon Grille and had a great time!

Saturday I had the funniest experience at Lowes. Let’s take a page from Twitter.
I just picked up some gear from Lowes. I was joking with the cashier and she told me she was pregnant. Came outta nowhere. Is that weird? 2:36 PM Jan 9th from Twitterrific

Then Brandon says
@brandon @MrOmarJ all you have to do is talk to a girl to get her pregs?

Then Jeremy says

@jerms9500 Remind me to keep you away from Melissa. RT @brandon @MrOmarJ all you have to do is talk to a girl to get her pregs?

Short story, but fairly funny no?

Anyway, for those of you familiar with the UFC, I spent Saturday arguing with Dana White—the owner, on Twitter. It was kind of hilarious, if you ask me. Check out the page if you want to read it.

For good measure I finished the day with a nice Cowboys victory and went to sleep.

Sunday was spent watching an amazing day of football. I don’t think we could have asked for a better night game.

We spent some time on Monday clearing out our carriage house at work to ready it for renovation. It turns out Jerry is building out the space so I can have my own office and fireplace. I can’t wait until it’s done. ;)

A few of us went to Joe’s for lunch on Tuesday and when we got back Kurt thought it was a great idea to walk on our frozen lake. I know it was wrong for me to support it, but I had to take a picture because it was just so funny.

It also happened to be Sara Jane Z.’s wedding anniversary so that was pretty cool too.

If you’ve ever lost your luggage or had anything stolen while you’re flying, you may want to travel with a gun or at least a starter pistol. It’ll keep your stuff safe.

I spent Thursday night kicking Rachel’s butt in Wii. How much fun was that?

And that’s that!

A special hello to Rosa, the inventor of Happy Friday, Happy Monday (only a few more days until Friday) and oh my god, Happy Thursday (tomorrow is Friday!).

Jan 08

Annnnnnnnnd we’re back! I hope you guys were able to enjoy your time off over the break! Did you get what you wanted for Christmas? I got a brandie new Kobe Bryant jersey. And you know Pat and I love us some KB!

Rachel and I spent New Year’s the same way we always do, with some loud music and spirits. Thanks to my special work friend, we were able to enjoy a bottle of our favorite bubbly juice, White Star! Thank you.

So we get back from holiday break and my boy, Bob, comes to work with a sweet new ride. The guy’s got an Altima and since we all went to lunch and guess who drove it. This guy! I love it.

Tuesday Kurt and I meet up with our favorite Eagles fan, D. Lo. We had lunch at Famous Dave’s, I predicted the Cowboy’s would win the playoff game on Saturday—end of story. I finished up the day at Road Runner Sports. I picked up the cold weather gear I was looking for, but I left the NipGuards at the counter. Looks like I’ll be running in the cold! Brian, you want to run?

And apparently, another one you are pregnant. And ummmmmm, it’s not Rachel. I love to say that. Well congrats to my buddy, J. Rock. Or I guess J. Harvey now. Feel free to name the baby after me.

On Wednesday I gained a whole new respect for my colleague, Lisa. I had to stop by her house to pick up something and I realized how faaaaaaaaaaaaaar she lived. God bless your heart for making that trip every day.

Jerry and I had the pleasure of enjoying an after the holidays lunch with our friend Sue O. Great food, laughs and platinum trophies; I think that sums it up.

That pretty much catches us up! It’s Friday and I’m ready for the weekend! ‘Till next week.

A special hello to Rosa, the inventor of Happy Friday, Happy Monday (only a few more days until Friday) and oh my god, Happy Thursday (tomorrow is Friday!).

Kurt, I don’t want to hear any crap because this is abbreviated!

Be sure to check out the one second ads during the bowl.

I had to “wheel” my way around a crazy this crazy accident by Novo Nordisk the other day. There were cops, EMTs and fire trucks. I used my impressive driving skills to get around it.

Kurt sent me this. He thought it was really funny, but it was just funny.

Ah man! I got lot to talk about, but no time or energy to talk about it. Turns out I’ll be sending out the blog a bit late this week. For those of you with e-mail enabled phones look for it over the weekend, otherwise you’ll see it on Monday after the big game. BTW, go CARDINALS!

I made a vow to live a more exciting life last week and I think I was able to do that. While it wasn’t the super cool guy week I’m used to it will do.

Anyway, Friday was Christie’s birthday so Happy Birthday to you. Do you even get this? I’m not even sure. Anyway I spent my Friday night at prepost-marital counseling. Our counselor was impressed by my new unlocked iPhone. I didn’t tell her that it wasn’t really working at the time.

Rachel and I spent the night out at dinner. A good time was had by both of us. When I got home I was finally able to fix my iPhone and it was unlocked for real!

We spent our Saturday morning with our buddy looking at houses. We found a few that we liked so hopefully we can narrow the search sometime soon. They gave me crap for playing with my phone the entire time we were in the car. I didn’t care though.

Sunday, we had a playoff party at the job. That was a ton of fun. A few folks from the job stopped in and a bunch of my boss’s friends came by. It was definitely a wild time, and when Elaine dropped by I was cracking up. Besides the fact that I lost that bet I told you guys about last week, I had a great time!

Monday I heard that JK Design was named the #15 Internet Technology Company in New Jersey. That’s pretty cool! Thank you, NJ Biz.

For you fans of Family Guy I found out who Meg’s father is. You might say Peter, but it’s actually Stan Thompson. Crazy huh? That’s what I said.

Anyway for those of you who know people who are looking for jobs, here are some people who are hiring.

I can’t remember when it came in, but Rachel and I received a nice card from Joann congratulating us on our marriage. Thanks again!

I found this great clip on Wednesday. It looks fake, but I really think it happened. That was one of the craziest dunks ever.

Oh, ha ha. I forgot to mention that Tuesday a few of us watched the inauguration. That was a great show.

I ended up talking to my buddy Adrian on Thursday and he told me he was at the inauguration. That’s very cool.

After I came back from a meeting, I stopped by Starbucks for a hot chocolate and it exploded on the woman. That was pretty funny.

If any of you have T-mobile, let me know. My buddy, Brian, told me about an easy way to get 10% off your bill. I just did it and it took less than five minutes!

And because I know she’ll be happy I mentioned it, I talked to Kya last night. It’ been a while since you’ve seen your name huh? J

Anyway, that’s it for me. Have a great day.

P.S. I hope I made a typo so I can hear about it from Kert. ;)

Oh no! Oh no! Oh no you didn’t! Yes I did. That song is a classic! We’ve been singing it all week in our office. Apparently, Bob woke up singing it the other day. If you listen to it you may get hooked so listen with caution.

Since I don’t think I’ll have much to say this week I’ll include some comments I received.

“Finally got the iPhone huh punk? LOL - now how will keep myself entertained without your distant envy?”

That one is from my cousin. She usually doesn’t know what she is talking about, but I’ll give it to her this time. You just have to love the iPhone.

“Even though you posted it in the blog, I think people will still have a hard time believing that I’m NOT pregnant.  So, you’re going to have to make sure I keep up my exercising so that random weight gain is not mistaken for pregnancy!! Lol.”

That’s from the wife. I think that’s self explanatory.

Rachel also sent me a cool article about new credit score information.

I found this the article on yahoo. His embarrassment may stop me from making bets with people around my office, which reminds me, I made a new one yesterday. I was approached by a colleague and we made a bet that stats that if the Steelers win on Sunday I will have to wave a terrible towel when people address me before I respond. If they lose he will have to wear a Deion Sanders jersey and pump his fist and say “Go Cowboys” before he responds. I may end up looking like that guy in the video.

I received a funny e-mail from Sara Jane the other day. Well not funny, but I thought it was cute. She called the blog a missive. I was intrigued because I had no clue what the meant so I looked it up. Anyway I just wanted to congratulate her on her one year anniversary so I shot her a note.

I also found it funny that my old boss still found a way to put the red pen (I remember that pen!) to my missives even from long distance! He sent me a nice critique on the blog which I thought was hilarious.

Outside of that, the week was pretty boring. I’m going to make an effort to entertain myself more effectively. I just haven’t had much fun reminiscing while writing this like I usually do.

A special hello to Rosa, the inventor of Happy Friday, Happy Monday (only a few more days until Friday) and oh my god, Happy Thursday (tomorrow is Friday!).

Jan 09

Happy New Year, my good friends! I’m hoping that you are well rested and ready to tackle 2009 with a full head of steam!

I personally enjoyed the time we had off and the time away from the blog. Not much happened over the last few weeks, but I’ll give you a quick update.

So for two months or so I’ve been listening to my buddy’s iPod on Monday’s when we play poker. He has the best pop, hip hop, rock, old school etc. Well a few weeks ago I got my hands on his iPod. Who knew he had 24 gigs of music—wow! That combined with the 18 gigs I got from Kurt really bolstered my music collection.

Some of you may have noticed that you didn’t get a holiday card from me this year. Now that’s crazy because I usually send out about 75 a year. I just didn’t feel the spirit this year and I decided against it. It was weird feeling at first, but it quickly past.

Random, thought:  I’ve just spent the last 10 minutes IM’ing Lisa. And she brings up a funny point that I think I’ll talk about for a second because I think a lot of you are thinking this. Rachel is NOT pregnant! LOL. I can’t believe how many people I’ve heard speculate that this was the case. I wouldn’t get married to cover it up, but I guess I’ll have to wait six or seven months to prove that one.

So one day before Christmas I had lunch with Shelly. Apparently she got lost on her way. I had to find random ways to entertain myself. First I listened to random conversations and watched a guy on his blackberry storm.

The funniest part by far was when a guy got up to make a phone call and didn’t see the step next to him and fell flat on his face.  Funnier was the fact that he refused to acknowledge the five people in party who were asking if he was ok. He didn’t even turn around. I almost soiled myself. Thanks for lunch, Shelly and the motivational voicemail you left me on my now defunct phone.

My phone is I think officially dead! So if you’re calling me it’s going to go straight to voicemail. I have a new iPhone that Rachel got me for Xmas, but you’ll have to wait until I unlock it this weekend before you can call me on my regular number.

So Rachel and I were Grinches for Xmas. We decided a while back that we weren’t buying any gifts this year, but we actually didn’t have much Xmas spirit either. We exchanged gifts amongst ourselves and that really changed my outlook. She obviously got me the phone, but she spent the money she won in our pool and got me a few video games. How exciting!

I have to give Kudos to my grandma for what I think is the best gift we’ve both received ever. That was a great wedding present! Thank you!

New Year’s turned out to be what it always was for us. We listened to loud music, watched Super Bad and popped some champagne when the ball dropped.

Random thought: Check out this year in review video from Kurt.

How about this article? Did you see this? That’s pretty amazing.

How about this safety  video? I’m too lazy to figure out who sent it to me, but it’s a good one.

My final thought for the wrap up is, wow! I spoke to Jane W. She’s so cool!

Happy New Year, people.
