Happy Friday! *8.3.07* Happy Friday! *8.17.07*
Aug 10

So I think I should say hello to a few of the newcomers to the blog: hello Sara, Julie, Tom N., Ira G., and Tieshia C. Those are the recent ones I can think of. Sorry if I missed you. Ok, it’s a not so beautiful day, but that doesn’t change much about my attitude. I’m very excited about the weekend. Aren’t you? If not, cheer up buddy.

I know this is late and I have a half day and you Tyco folks have summer hours so I apologize, but it’s all worth it. Last week was funny. I didn’t mention that I was blown off three times for lunch/and or meetings. That’s a huge blow to the ego you know. Fortunately, they were all rescheduled and now I’m back on track. Fortunately, Jon was around so he made a suitable replacement for my Friday lunch—Quiznos, yummy.

Saturday, Rachel and I went to Point Pleasant beach. So I guess it’s been a while, but I don’t recall having to pay to go to the beach. That and the crappy parking made for a rocky start, but it was the beach and we loved it. We laid out and got a some unadulterated sleep. Then she killed me in a few games on UNO. L  Sunday was a big day. We saw The Police and their opening act Fiction Plane in concert. A few things here: two drunk college kids got thrown out before the show started and it was funny seeing the crowd, average age 40, jumping around like idiots. Check out my first youtube video. It’s really dark, but you can understand my point. Monday, I found out two girls at my job got engaged, nice. Congrats, Jen F. and Lisa G. Wednesday I talked to my “Amarula” sister Lynne P. She is sooo super cool and by far the best freelance writer I know. We also had a lunch for a colleague, Brandon, who is leaving. Elaine, or Mama E, was very entertaining on the ride there. Her new found love for the word crunk and crunk music is fascinating.

Thursday was by far the craziest day of the week. It started with a bunch of us unloading $250 thousand worth of video iPods in front of our building for a client. I’d like to thank Kurt for stopping by to say hello once we unloaded the three 300 plus pound pallets. J I went to Tyco to have lunch with Shelly and I saw the very lovely, Debbie H. and Rosa S. Hello, ladies! Shelly and I went out for some “good Chinese” and I took her to Elements Asia. That was a blast that I have since come to regret(the food not Shelly)! Later we played our first and last playoff game. There was a special appearance by Ira. G and we were rolling. I went 3 for 4 with a single, double and homerun (2 runs and an RBI). I made the catch of my life leaping and catching the ball while smashing into the fence, but it wasn’t enough—we lost!

When I got home Rachel hit me with the funniest quotes of the week: Who told you to be a superstar, You just like playing in the dirt and Go get in the shower. Ha.

Here’s a piece of advice for you folks who are working towards Friday Zen. If you have to go to work tomorrow, it’s not Friday. If you want to go out to drink one night, but you can’t because you have work tomorrow, it’s not Friday. But, if you go to work and you look at your desk calendar and it says Friday, you should rejoice because you have just killed the work week again.

I’ll end this with Kurt’s suggestion, you’ve been Omarized.

Corrections:

I misspoke last week or actually didn’t speak at all. The prison video in this post came from Kurt. Sorry, Kurt!

Ok. So I have to apologize for the statement I made in last week’s post which was a correction of this post about the alcohol. I didn’t buy the rum, Rachel did, so the Parton was the most expensive bottle I’ve ever purchased.

Random Stuff

Hello, to my buddy Kelly C. and my niece Kayla!

Tony L. from MBE, how ‘bout them Yanks!

I’m surprised this hasn’t happened before. Check out this video of a guy wiping out on a huge skateboard ramp at the X Games. I have to give it to these kids. This play was ingenious. Rachel, this is for you or anyone else who 25 and under and knows who DJ Bay Bay is.

This is what he looks like. Look, his first photo is a mugshoot. Haha! If you ever wondered why people hate Barry Bonds, click here. Rachel sent me this the other day. It’s some good information about a new carjacking trend.

A great Dilbert I had to post.

A special hello to Rosa, the inventor of Happy Friday, Happy Monday (only a few more days until Friday) and oh my god, Happy Thursday (tomorrow is Friday!).
